Born in 1970, Davide has practically always been a sport fisherman. With a house on Lošinj, any time was good to go fishing. At 15 he began with the classic bottom fishing, and then moved on to trolling with live bait. In those years the technology was not so advanced, but Davide has always invested heavily in various systems, from simple depth sounder to positioning systems, such as Loran, Satellit C and much more recently GPS. Fifteen years ago he became passionate about deep sea fishing, and more precisely to drifting bluefin tuna fishing. Take part in the first races in the Adriatic, and precisely on the island of Murter, in Jezera. At that point, to limit the gap with respect to the other fierce Croatian teams, he buys the first sonar, a Koden rebranded Suzuki, of 180 kHz that allows him to "see" up to 250 meters from the boat. Continue to participate in various competitions, accumulating experience and first victories. Seven years ago he signed a sponsorship contract with Furuno Italia, and installed all the best performing instrumentation on the old Jack Sparrow, including a CH300 dual frequency sonar that allows him to find tuna even at 600 meters away. Since then, the collaboration with Furuno has continued, and all the tools are regularly updated. Furuno sends Davide both to the Airmar in Boston, USA and also to the Furuno headquarters in Japan, in Osaka, to participate in specific courses on acoustics and interpretation of sonar screens. On a national level he is known as one of the leading experts on on-board electronics, and is called throughout Italy to hold specific courses where he teaches how to use electronic tools dedicated to fishing. In recent years he has participated in more than 100 competitions, and has been on the podium more than ten times. He was the first Italian to win with his team an international Big Game tournament in Croatia, in Komisa, in 2019, also winning the trophy for the biggest prey. For 4 years he managed a fishing shop in Trieste, where he has close important links with the major players in the sector's production. It is currently sponsored by Normic, with whom it has a collaborative relationship of almost ten years. Now he is the captain of the Fishing Academy Jack Sparrow, where he shares his experience with all those who participate in fishing trips, and wish to improve their technique.
