This was our second time renting Francesco's boat. We were guests of another renter the first time and had such a great time, we had to do it again. Transaction and communications went smoothly. Fuel price is fair. With the exception of the gas guage, everything was functional. We will definitely be renting again!
We rented a dinghy for a half day from 9 am to 1 pm, and initially, everything seemed promising. The rental company had the boat ready for us upon arrival, and the process started smoothly. However, we quickly noticed that the petrol gauge was not working. When we brought this to the attention of the rental agent, he assured us that the gauge was broken but there was enough fuel for the entire rental period. Our experience started off wonderfully, and we were having an amazing time out at sea. Unfortunately, our enjoyment was abruptly interrupted when the motor stopped because we had run out of fuel. Stranded in the middle of the sea, we had to call the rental company for assistance. While they did come to rescue us, it took 45 minutes for them to reach us. Upon returning to shore, we were surprised and disappointed to be charged an extra €100. The rental agent explained that during our 3.5-hour rental, we had used €70 worth of fuel and the additional charge was for the rescue service. This experience left us feeling frustrated and let down. The broken petrol gauge and incorrect information about the fuel capacity were significant issues that affected our safety and enjoyment. Additionally, the extra charge for the rescue service felt unfair, especially given that we had already paid for the rental and were assured we had enough fuel. In summary, while the initial service seemed promising and the dinghy itself was enjoyable, the fuel issue and subsequent charges made the experience less than satisfactory. Future renters should be aware of these potential problems and confirm all details before heading out to avoid similar issues.
