Ostia and its aforementioned Lido, is known as the sea of Rome, being the meeting place of Roman citizens during the summer. Ostia is a settlement made up of the three seaside districts of Rome: Lido di Ostia Ponente, Lido di Ostia Levante and Lido di Castel Fusano.

In reality the town was founded by the fourth king of Rome Ancus Marzio who created the first example of a Roman colony. Therefore, for lovers of culture and history, this place is unmissable!

In addition to being a seaside destination with a great tourist vocation, the seaside and tourist port of the town is quite important and every year receives many arrivals from tourists who come they go to this place with the intent either to go to Rome to visit the city or to enjoy the wonderful Tyrrhenian sea that washes its fine sandy beaches. Choose a dinghy or a motor boat if you are more interested in the various destinations on the Lazio coast rather than the journey. If you suffer from the sea, the best choice, in addition to the seasickness pill, is certainly renting a catamaran. Given the presence of the double hull, this vessel enjoys significant stability even during navigation. The catamaran is also suitable for large crews given the capacity of the double cabins. Therefore, if you plan to travel with family or friends or both, we recommend this type of rental. We recommend sailing only for adventurers and lovers of the sea in all its forms. In fact, a sailing boat is not very suitable for those who are afraid of the sea or suffer from seasickness. When sailing, it is carried by the winds and tends to lean to one side. Ostia port is nice for its restaurants and shops. You can find many bars and monuments to visit in Ostia town, which is easily accessible from Rome with a train. Sailing around Ostia for a few hours is relaxing, but for stopping by and diving, better sailing a bit further north or south, hence renting for a few days is recommended
