Sorrento is an ideal spot for renting even if you're on Capril. It's a short 30 mn ride to the island from Sorrento as well as other Almafi coast spots (Conca del Sogno restaurant with boat mooring and launch service just 20mns from Sorrento by boat but reserve ahead of time)

Sorrento is a beautiful city and centrally located to around the Amalfi Coast and to Capri with ease.

Thanks to Francesco for accommodating my last-minute request to book the boat just the day before. His assistant, Rita, provided us with all the information we needed about the boat before we boarded. We rented the boat without a skipper, but Manuele, the skipper, had it ready for us at the Sorrento port and was very kind and helpful. If you're a beginner, he can certainly assist you with getting in and out of the port smoothly.
