But before you set sail, don't forget to check out the city properly! The city is undoubtedly one of the most exciting in Northern Europe and offers some of the best dining experiences on the continent.

If you're more interested in shopping, Ströget is a must-visit. The 1.1km pedestrian street is lined with shops where you'll find everything from chains to small boutiques and concept stores.

Where to sail in Copenhagen?

When sailing from Copenhagen there are many nice destinations you can reach! We have therefore listed some different destination suggestions here depending on how much time you have and how long you want to sail:

Ven

At a relatively close sailing distance from Copenhagen is Ven. This island is located in the middle of the Öresund and is a fantastic island to sail to. Coming from Denmark, Kyrkbacken is a natural port to dock in and also one of the coziest on the island.

In the harbor, there are a couple of restaurants, a fish stall, and bike rentals where you can rent a bike and explore the island. There are also many good barbecue areas and the long jetty is perfect for an evening swim.

Elsinore

If you sail north from Ven, you will soon reach Elsinore. There is a nice and well-kept harbor with all the facilities you could need. In one part of the harbor, there are also a number of very beautiful, older ships that are worth stopping to look at.

Just a stone's throw from the harbor is Kronborg Castle, the pride of Helsingborg. The castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and it was here that Shakespeare's historic play Hamlet was set.

Anholt

If you continue your boat trip north, you will then come to Anholt. The sailing is a little longer, but it's definitely worth it! For a long time, the island was only accessible to sailors, which means that today it is still relatively isolated and lives its own life.

The island is a paradise for water sports: kite surfing and windsurfing are popular activities. The whole island also has a relaxed, laid-back feel and is lined with beautiful beaches with blue seas that on sunny days give a real southern feel.

Bornholm

If you choose to sail south instead, you can head to Bornholm. The sailing is a little longer and you may need to make a stop at the southern tip of Sweden, but once you're there you won't regret it!

It's a popular holiday island with lush green landscapes and Denmark's only granite cliffs. Don't forget to visit Dueodde beach, one of Denmark's finest beaches. After enjoying the beautiful beach and taking a swim, don't forget to finish your visit at Bornholm's famous Michelin restaurant, Kadeau.

How much does it cost to hire a boat in Copenhagen?

The costs of a boat charter in Copenhagen depends entirely on the type of boat you want, the condition of the boat, and how big the boat is.

But generally speaking, you can expect to pay from £254 and upwards for a sailing boat per day. For a smaller motorboat, the average cost is £140 for a day, and for a RIB boat, you can rent from £215 and up.

What to see when you rent a boat in Copenhagen?

Before you set sail from the port of Copenhagen, don't forget to explore this amazing city. An obvious destination for boat lovers is of course Nyhavn. Check out the old scuttles in the harbor and the colorful houses.

The harbor is also home to many restaurants where you can sit down and have a beer and enjoy buttered bread and other traditional Danish food. For the shopping enthusiast, we have Ströget the 1,1 km long pedestrian street, completely traffic-free. Ströget is lined with lots of different types of shops, ranging from chains to smaller personal shops.

For the history buff, the Glyptotek is recommended. The Glyptoteket is a museum with a collection of 10,000 works of art, mainly from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome, as well as Danish and French art from the 19th century.

Hire a boat with a skipper in Copenhagen

Don't have a driver's license or feel you don't want to maneuver the boat yourself? No problem, with Click&Boat you can still enjoy the sea and go on a wonderful sailing trip with an experienced skipper.

He or she takes care of the maneuvering of the boat and has full control of the navigation. They usually know the surrounding area well so you can get very useful tips for the best beaches and harbors to moor in.

What type of boat should I choose?

When you set sail from one of northern Europe's coolest cities to cruise between the beautiful islands nearby, it's important to choose the right type of boat for your preferences and requirements:

If you want a genuine sailing experience and, above all, see the journey as the goal itself, we recommend hiring a sailing yacht. This will give you the opportunity to trim the sails to maximize the knots. Or why not sunbathe on the foredeck and enjoy a swim from the aft jetty.

Have a limited schedule but still want to cover as many destinations as possible? Then hiring a motorboat or a RIB boat is optimal! With a motorboat or RIB boat, you can cover long distances quickly and therefore reach many destinations in a short time!

So what are you waiting for? Browse through the boats on Click&Boat and rent the perfect boat for your trip!
