Description of Jennie's catamaran
Catamaran Voyage Norseman 430 13.1m
is based in Denarau, on Fiji's easily accessible western shore. Short taxi ride from Nadi International airport brings you to the yacht and you'll be ready for the sailing holiday of a lifetime in just a few hours. Let sail you to your own private white-sand beach or perhaps it's a pristine reef system that no one has ever snorkeled on before you. Head up to Yasawas to find private beaches for miles, amazing underwater life, friendly and happy locals, hikes with incredible views, kayaking, fishing and relaxing. [pronounced: kwik-so-tik] is a South African-built Voyage Norseman 430 open-ocean sailing catamaran that has just undergone an extensive refit in 2016/2017. She is 43 feet long and 25 feet wide. She has new twin 3-cylinder Yanmar diesel engines and cruises at an average speed of 7 knots under power and can sail even faster. She has four private queen-sized staterooms and three private heads (bathrooms) with an overnight guest capacity of six, with room for up to 14 guests on a day excursion. Each stateroom has a queen-sized berth with high-quality linens, excellent natural ventilation with 12v fans, reading lights, USB and 12v car plugs. The private heads are adjacent to each stateroom and feature flushing toilets, sink, mirror and hot water showers. Her fully-equipped galley enables the Chef to prepare delicious meals. Her 100 liter-per-hour watermaker ensures ample fresh water aboard. Her storage capacity allows us to haul all the fun water toys including: unsinkable rigid tender with 20HP outboard, snorkeling gear, kayaks, paddleboard, kiteboarding gear, fishing gear, and other toys. Her back deck and large swim platforms allow for easy boarding and make for a great place to fight in that big catch; the swim platform also has a hot water shower. She is fully-equipped and well-tested for extended cruises to remote locations, carrying her passengers in safety and comfort. Please contact us for more details on the yacht. FAQ: What's included in the charter rate? Exclusive use of the yacht and onboard water toys and the services of the Captain and Chef/Stewardess, fuel, onboard meals and snacks, non-alcoholic beverages and mixers, local taxes, Fiji government fees, village and nature reserve fees, onboard wifi and an amazing time. The charter rate does not include shore-based or third-party activities, alcohol or (optional) crew gratuities. Can I bring my own alcohol? Yes! Bring your duty free allowance because alcohol is much more expensive in Fiji. We can also arrange to have local or imported beer/wine stocked and chilled aboard prior to your arrival. Upon booking we will send a price list of spirits, wine and beer available locally. Non-alcoholic drinks and mixers are stocked aboard and are included in your charter rate. What type of food and drinks do you serve aboard? Once you confirm your charter booking we will send you a preference sheet that helps us tailor the menu and drink selection to your preferences. We will prepare a menu and stock the boat based on the feedback we receive from the preference sheets. Our resident Chef, Jennie can cook to your dietary preferences and restrictions. What's the best time of year to charter? The weather is Fiji is warm and pleasant year-round with average high temps in the twenty six to thirty one degree C (seventy nine to eighty eight F) range. July-September is the winter and when the SE tradewinds are strongest so if you like brisk sailing, lower humidity and relatively cooler temps this is your time. April-June and October-December are transition months and the weather is idyllic with gentle SE trades, comfortable temps and pleasant sailing. January-March is cyclone (hurricane) season and also the warmest and most humid months; but if your dream holiday is flat calm anchorages, flat seas, hammock weather and water activites, this is your time. What about strong winds or severe weather? You can expect idyllic sailing conditions in 10-20 knots of wind out of the SE most of the year with brief periods of rain and calm as is expected in the tropics. If you visit outside of cyclone season the chance of severe weather impacting your holiday is extremely unlikely. If you book a charter during cyclone season (December - March) your chances of adverse weather impacting your trip is also very low - but if a named cyclone forces us to cancel your charter you can rest assured that we will provide a pro-rata refund or (at your option) reschedule the lost days, free of charge. We know the local weather patterns well and will customize your itinerary to take full advantage of the weather forecasts during your visit. We will usually compile a list of possible destinations and then chart our planned course with you the day you arrive, taking best advantage of the wind and weather forecasts. What do I bring? This is Fiji so you don't need to bring much in the way of clothes or other items. As Jimmy Buffett said "I'm going where the weather suits my clothes." What he meant is shorts and flip-flops weather. Here in Fiji you'll spend a lot of time in light warm-weather clothing and swimwear. If you visit in our "winter" you may want a lightweight sweater or windbreaker for those star-gazing nights on the nets. You may also want to bring your favorite sunscreen and perhaps your preferred bug spray for those shore excursions. Also, if you can bring a duffel or collapsible bag it will be much easier to store aboard than a big rigid rolling suitcase that may end up taking over your stateroom. Can I bring my own SCUBA gear? Yes, you can, but it may be easier if we arrange a local dive operator to pick you up from the boat and take you diving. In some cases even the more exerienced divers may want to hire local operators since the local operators can sometimes take you to more remote or hard-to-access dive sites.

We had absolutely amazing time with Jennie and Sasha in Fiji. All activities, gourmet food, super clean, snorkeling, swimming, scuba, kayaking...... **********
Eveline and her husband Ray are an adorable couple, easy-going, and very friendly.
Daniel Sassone and Soledad were exemplary guests on our catamaran. Very friendly, offering help with sailing, eager to learn about local culture. Even with the language limitations we had interesting conversations. Wish more guests like them...
