we had a very nice trip starting at port-des-barques, driving by ile madame, around ile d aix, around fort boyard, going to ile d oleron across the beaches from boyardville to st denis, where we had a short break for lunch going finally back to port-des-barques. on the way we tried to catch some fish, havent been so lucky though. bit it was a very nice day, perfect weather and francois was a very nice captain to spend the day with. thank you again!

La Rochelle was a perfect starting point for the family sailing holiday around the islands Ile de Re, Ile d’Oleron, Ile d’Aix and Vendee Coastline. A short walk or boat trip from the large Marina Port Minimes to old town La Rochelle. With Kids you can visit the Aquarium or the Maritime Museum.

La Rochelle is a great base for all types of vacation. either a weekend around fort boyard and ile de re or a longer week either in the surroundings or further away to royan in the south or saint-gilles in the north. Even though the nearby marinas are somehow limited by tidal gates, there are plenty good anchorages. We will be coming back to explore more.

We had such a beautiful day on the boat with Gael! The boat was fantastic- well equipped and spacious. It had plenty of space to store and prepare our food and drinks and a great sound system to play our music. We had great communication from Gael leading up to the day, so we knew what to expect/to bring and he was very friendly and so accommodating on the day. Would highly recommend!! Thanks again 😊

An old and simple but well cared for and practical boat. But the more important is that Yves is a very experienced teacher and can show you how to deal with tides and streams in the area. Sailing for 2-3 days allows you to see the Charente river with fishing houses as well as La Rochelle and the islands. All well worth a visit, great area to sail.
