She is skippered by India’s first solo circumnavigator, Capt Dilip Donde. Dilip completed his solo circumnavigation under sail in 2010, on the INSV Mhadei, and has been instrumental in training the next 7 Indian circumnavigators. He continues to sail post retirement from the Indian Navy.
