Mediterranean Yacht Charter

Although connected to the Atlantic Ocean, the Mediterranean is almost entirely surrounded by land creating an abundance of beautiful coastal towns located in some of the most beautiful countries on the planet. These include France, Spain, Italy, Croatia, Greece and Monaco just to name a few. Just as popular are some of the islands that the Med is home to including Ibiza, Menorca, Mallorca, Santorini and Corfu. The Mediterranean is a key global sailing location and is home to major international boat shows such as Cannes Yachting Festival and the Mediterranean Yacht Show.

What season is the best to charter a yacht in the Mediterranean Sea?

The high-season in the Mediterranean typically runs from May to the end of August with July and August being by far the most popular and busy times of the year. With this in mind, it is often a good idea to avoid July and August and instead plan your trip for either side of the high-season. May and June or September and October are the best times to visit the Mediterranean because the weather is still sunny, the waters are warm and the crowds are fewer. For sailing specifically, Spring is the best as the waters are calmer but the sun is still shining. If we were to suggest one time of the year to take you sailing vacation, it would be during May and June.
