The Base Sous-Marine in Lorient is definitely worth visiting. The port that this boat is based in (Locmiquelic) is small with a couple of nice bars / restaurants overlooking the harbour. The facilities in the Capitainarie (toilets, showers) are modern, clean and well maintained. Locmiquelic has parking available, and the boat has easy access to the Rade of Lorient, Ile de Groix and beyond.

Very cool boating centre, much to see and do. We launched from Lamour Plage and you can head inland, up river, or take to the coast.

Rent with or without a skipper

When it comes to renting a boat in Lorient, you have the option to choose whether to sail with or without a skipper. A skipper is a qualified professional who will handle the navigation and ensure your safety, allowing you to relax and enjoy the journey. They have excellent knowledge of the local waters and can even provide insights into the best spots to visit.

On the other hand, renting without a skipper offers experienced sailors the freedom to chart their own course and explore Lorient at their own pace. It's an opportunity to showcase your sailing skills and take control of your adventure while discovering the hidden gems along the coast. However, before setting sail, make sure that you have the necessary licenses and that you are familiar with the local laws.
