Rent our Maxi Fenix for your upcoming sailing holiday in Stockholm archipelago. In July to mid August only weekly sunday to sunday. Rest of the season also preferred sunday to sunday. The boat is based in Gustavsberg 20 km east of Stockholm. From here you have a good access out to the archipelago and the vast range of islets and various nature environments. In summer time the archipelago blooms and sailors from all over Stockholm set sail to get the best out of it. About the boat: The boat is very well maintained, with the same owner for 11 years who have installed many nice things eg. powered seawater system for the sink and shower in the stern. New diesel heater. Bathing jetty that is popular for the kids. The adjustment for the main sail is not in the way in the middle of the cockpit, but is moved to behind the rudder shaft. New cockpit tent. Heater system, diesel fueled. Well suited for a family of 4-5 people, but can be sailed by a single person also thanks to self-tacking jib and a good rudder lock. Foldable cushions with armrests - E-Bridge Deluxe makes the cockpit more comfortable. Requirements: In order to rent the boat we require responsible sailors (30-70 years old) with proof of nautical skills. No pets or smoking allowed. Fuel cost 4 Eur/h Duvets, pillows, sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers (beddings) you have to bring your own. A few life jackets are available to borrow on request, but best if you can bring your own. Please send a request with the dates you are looking at sailing and how many you are.

A great experience, overall! The weather didn’t cooperate at first, but having a boat with a diesel heater and full dodger and bimini really helped when the mixed rain and snow were coming down. Very nice sailing characteristics, stable and steady, but was often making 4-5 knots, even 5.5 at times, in moderate winds. Comfortable, great upholstery, refrigeration, stove - everything I needed. I had a problem (my own fault) near the end of the rental that Johan worked with me to sort out. He was friendly and gracious, and I would definitely recommend renting from him!
The boat was just as we expected with all the essential for exploring the area. The owner very kind, he provided the digital guide that was really helpful ☺️

Johan was nice and responded quickly. The boat is a little older but has sailed well.
Very appreciable, the boat is very well equipped, self-tacking jib, stern anchor and stone attachments, complete awning, heating…. Johan is always available to answer questions within 5 minutes and the home port is perfectly located to quickly leave for the south (20 minutes by bus 474 which passes every 10 minutes...from Stockholm) plus Johan gives access to an application of Swedish ports and anchorages (translated into English) which gives all the information to find your way Perfect stay, we couldn't do better!!!
We had a great 2 weeks on the boat. Everything went smoothly. Johan is a great landlord. He replies quickly and was available at all times. The boat has everything you need to have a great time in the archipelago.
1: the Stockholm archipelago has been beautiful and a special experience for 30 years 2: the Maxi 28 is a good ship in principle and structurally 3: This maxi "Vipan af Värmdö" is loveless, unkempt and unsafe (damaged forestay, a rope already torn out, etc.), no wind speed/wind direction indicator, windex is defective, the mainsail is totally run down, and unfortunately many other defects. 4: the charter price paid for this ship is absolutely too high!
Sailing in the archipelago is an experience. The available nautical charts and the Garmin make it possible and the self-tacking jib also allows short strokes. Unfortunately, the condition of the sails only allows for limited sail trimming, but the journey is the goal and the Maxi Fenix is ideally suited for 2 to 3 people for this sailing area.
