Ortygia is the historic and wonderful old town of Syracrusa, a must to visit /see from the water and on foot. Have dinner in the Dumo square as the lights switch on in the evening. Getting lost in the myriad of alleyways is fun whilst shopping and trying out the various ice cream flavours.

Siracusa is among the best spots in Sicily combining both culture, history, shopping and beach life. Take advantage of the early morning or late evening hours to explore the old town of Ortigia before it gets too hot and crowded by which time you would have already found your preferred restaurant for lunch.

Great place, lovely city with some amazing coves and beaches nearby. Would definitely recommend renting a boat to explore the nearby areas. We had an amazing day out on the ocean, we found some breathtaking secluded coves. Syracuase is also a great historic city worth spensing several nights exploring the old city.
